A true Piscean he celebrates his birthday on February 5.Was born in Dharan and spent most of his childhood there. He prefers living there and is currently living there with his wife and 2 daughters. Says its a much more peaceful and beautiful place to live in than Kathmandu.Named his daughter Tiamo as he found this word “tiamo” really beautiful and romantic.It means ‘I love you’ in Italian.Is a very private person and hence maintains a low profile and loves to spend quality time with his wife and daughters. Is very cheerful and committed to whatever he does in life.
The tattoo on his right arm was made by a tattoo enthusiast who is a plumber by profession with a homemade tattoo machine. “I was so moved by the passion he had for the art that I sacrificed a part of my body to be his canvas even though he wasn’t trained,” reveals the singer. Interestingly, the picture was taken from an article titled Lord of Chaos published in WAVE.
Loves to watch television but doesn’t fancy watching movies. His favourite show is
“The Jerry Springer Show” which unfortunately is not telecasted here. Other than that he watches a lot of Discovery channel and Animal Planet.
Always knew he wanted to be a singer. He gave up his studies after 12 to pursue his dream and to give it all his focus. Doesn’t have any formal training in music. Everything he knows is self taught through pure dedication and love for music. Plays the guitar while composing songs.
Likes listening to all kind of songs except for heavy metal. Narayan Gopal, Arun Thapa, Bryan Adams, Rod Steward are some of his favourite singers. Has no problems on being called the Nepali Bryan Adams because he knows his voice and can seen the difference.
After being rejected from more than 2 studios, he finally got a chance to record his first song Timro Maya with Bishal Studios in 1993.
Is currently working on a new album (hasn’t been named yet) and recently finished extensively touring the country as a part of the Mero Mobile tour.
Loves the Chinese cuisine, so could have wanted to become a chef specialising in the Chinese food if he had not become a singer. But he seldom cooks at home.
Black and White are his favourite colours and is not brand conscious while choosing for clothes.
