It’s been long time that I bothered to visit the movie theatre for a Nepali film. After Bhusan Dahal’s ‘Kagbeni’and Alok Nembang’s ‘Sano Sansar’ now ‘Mission Paisa’ from Simosh Sunuwar, son of the late Pandav Sunwar, seemed worth making that rare effort for.
After having watched ‘Matrix’ albeit a long time ago, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to describe Mission Paisa as the ‘Nepali Matrix’. There are fight scenes galore, something of a novelty for Kollywood. No musical breaks, impressive fight scenes and the highlight of the movie, spectacular visual effects, not often seen in Nepali movies. It seems that a new era in Nepali movies has begun.
The plot is certainly not as bold as the fight scenes nor is the English dialogue delivery of the stars. Nikhil, Amir and Suraj need to brush up on their dialogue delivery while the girls Nisha, Ayusha, Sunil Thapa are perfect. As for the acting skills Nikhil, Nisha and Sunil manage to impress while the others need serious lessons.
Alok Nembang and Melina Manandhar, well known faces in the Nepali media, make guest appearances adding further spice to the film.
Nisha needs to shed a few calories to look more convincing in her bold scenes while Ayusha need to put on some. Suraj RD need to shape up his body structure minus the excess fat.
Love it or hate it, there’s no denying that Mission Paisa stands out for its action sequences, heralding a new era in the history of Kollywood.
For action buffs Mission Paisa is a must-see.
