Probably changing their passport for the umpteenth time... and they are ready to stamp, land down under- our Nepali artists, of course. Fixed for the date April 4-24, Samanwaya Series is about to take off in Australia and it’s been organized by Manoranjan International.

Director of Manoranjan International Pvt. Ltd, Deepesh Shrestha says: “We plan to do commercial Nepali events worldwide.” That's refreshing, a first commercial event management dedicated to Nepali music. Shrestha is not a new name in Nepali media as he was associated with Hits FM 91.2- a leading FM station in Kathmandu and is still involved in online radio- Radio Jhatka.

Helping him, are the board of directors which also includes Siddartha Lamichane- former Hits FM presenter, Adesh Gorkhali on marketing and Yagyadhar Bajracharya. It’s being held in major cities of the Aussie land: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Gold Coast and Canberra.

You must be wondering why the name, Samanwaya? Well, it means collaboration, co-operation.

When you hear news from Nepal, it's like the nation is in perpetual fight with rifts between political parties becoming more and more evident. However, our nation does not only reflect the racial unrest but also unity in diversity. One of the main objectives of this concert is to show the brotherhood we Nepali share with each other, and what better medium than music. The organizers want to showcase, want to make the point clear that it’s not everyone who is fighting in Nepal and we couldn’t agree more on that. We surely still know how to live in love, peace and harmony. A fine example for this would be Nabin K. Bhattarai and Sugam Pokhrel. Though belonging to two different generations of Nepali Pop music, Nabin and Sugam have teamed up to work together for the show. No doubt, we can learn from them to keep our differences aside and love the similarities we share with each other. The duo will be also be joined by the band 26th Sun.

All in all, we hope and pray Samanwaya goes absolutely superb in Australia. This would definitely mean a great deal for us, Nepalese. All the best to Manoranjan International, Nabin K Bhattarai and Sugam Pokhrel!!
