According to NT, it is planning to expedite GSM mobile service in rural areas.
The NT, the state-owned company, boasts of its network in all 75 districts.
The telecom authority has distributed around 800,000 CDMA lines across the country with majority of the wireless service receivers being rural people.
The Telecom has 3.48 million subscribers of GSM service in 3,515 village development committees (VDCs) across the country. The GSM network is inaccessible in the remaining 400 VDCs.
NT is mulling to add two million new mobile subscribers by the end of the current fiscal year.
The company has added 600,000 GSM users in the first half of the current fiscal year. The telecom authority has 100,000 new subscribers every month. In the last fiscal year, NT had 1.3 million GSM subscribers.
