UML chairman assures support to NTY-2011

As a part of its programme to seek political commitment for successful launching of Nepal Tourism Year (NTY)-2011, a delegation of NTY- 2011, called on Jhalanath Khanal, chairman of Communist Party of Nepal (UML) and apprised him about the latest development taking place about launching of the mega campaign.

The delegates comprised of Prachanda Man Shrestha, CEO, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and Member Secretary, Main Steering Committee, NTY, Yogendra Shakya, National Coordinator, Programme Implementation Committee, NTY, Suman Pandey, Executive Member, Programme Implementation Committee, NTY, Sita Ram Sapkota, President, Trekking Agents Association of Nepal and Krishna Aryal, Coordinator, Culture Sub-committee, NTY.

Addressing the delegation Khanal said that it had been a great anxiety for everybody as the agenda of development has been cornered due to fluid political situation prevailing in the country. He further requested all concerned to help to create the atmosphere of consensus to resolve it particularly among political parties.

He assured that he and his party would extend all support to create such atmosphere initiated by the government and other parties.

Likewise, the Embassy of Nepal in Switzerland in partnership with the NRN Switzerland participated in the international tourism fair in Zurich, the FESPO 2010, being held from 28-31 January 2010.

An exclusive stall on the promotion of Nepal’s tourism has been hosted by the Embassy for the first time in this large tourism fair of international repute.

The Ambassador of Nepal to Switzerland, Dr. Dinesh Bhattarai, inaugurated the Nepal stall at the FESPO in Zurich at the midst of international visitors and members of Nepalese diaspora community.

Speaking on the function, Ambassador Dr. Bhattarai stated that hosting of Nepal stall at the FESPO 2010 was aimed at promoting Nepal’s tourism and to enhance the publicity of touristic attractions of Nepal as a contribution to the national campaign of Nepal Tourism Year 2011. Nepal’s participation in such a large international tourism fair is expected to further help in promoting Nepal’s diverse touristic potentials among large audience of travel tour sellers, tour operators in this part of the world and provide first hand information on the rich options of Nepal’s touristic tastes to the perspective tourists, the Ambassador added.
