Hailing from Norway, Merethe Vadstein Welle is one busy body in Nepal Music Center, NMC. She's been coaching western vocals for the past 7 months in K-City and is a student herself, learning eastern vocals plus Nepali dance. And did we mention her phenomenal linguistic skills? Let's just say, in the span of a couple of months she's absorbed enough Nepali to prevent any leg pulling. Last time we met, Ms. Welle had this to share, "Learning more and more of Yaman raag… tara kasto gaahro cha, tara ma kosis gardai chu, ma sakchu garna", atta girl, that's the spirit!!

"I am a very expressive person, and I need to express myself in one way or another. And music has been the obvious channel for me, I guess. It was always in me. But any expression within the arts is important to me, dancing, writing or be it drawing!" A believer in destiny, she quotes, "Life is a wonderful little thing! And music just makes it all the more perfect", and pursuing that very passion Welle has been teaching music for the past 7 years.

As a coach she makes a vital contribution, not only to the vocal quality of her subjects, but also to the protection of the source of sound. Like an insurance policy, her techniques are there to protect against future wear and tear. And on a personal note, some of her tips have been really beneficial!! Don’t take our word for it, you can find out for yourself at the workshop of western vocal technique, taking place this June 7th and 11th. So if you, yourself are an aspiring singer or anyone who loves to sing, what say you? How about an introduction to the basic principles and anatomy of vocal techniques, that too for free… Interested? Read on.

Ms Welle declares, "I invite my students and anyone who is interested in western vocal technique! Be prepared to be active! The workshops are not only for students but also, for anyone who's interested in learning, and use the knowledge by themselves. You don't HAVE to enroll in classes, everyone's invited to learn."
